Tip #4: Less Is More

SIMPLICITY IS THE KEY TO AN EFFECTIVE PRESENTATION. AVOID CHAOTIC DIGITAL ENVIRONMENTS AND DISTRACTING ELEMENTS.

Keep it simple. Use ONLY data or imagery that supports the key points you’re trying to make. Extraneous information will only confuse your audience making it more difficult to convey your ideas. Make sure your content is large enough to be viewed from a distance.

CREATE A STATIC FRAMEWORK RELEVANT TO YOUR SUBJECT MATTER AND ENSURE YOUR DESIGN IS CLEAR AND CONCISE.

A structured framework is key when it comes to organizing data. Use bullet points or short sentences instead of paragraphs. Follow a uniform layout for slides with similar information. Break down large amounts of content into additional slides.

DON’T MAKE YOUR AUDIENCE READ. YOUR SLIDES SHOULD SUPPORT YOUR PRESENTATION, NOT BE THE FOCUS.

People remember 80% of what they see, 20% of what they read, and 10% of what they hear. So it goes without saying you should make every effort to ensure that your presentation is as visual as possible.
